This project aims to reinforce the impact of the Waloon CyberExcellence program. It is a collaboration between 6 belgian universities: Université Catholique de Louvain, Université de Liège, Université de Mons, Université de Namur, Université Libre de Bruxelles and Royal Military Academy.

The project has three main objectives:

  1. To collaborate with renowned scientists from European countries and NATO on challenges that have an economical impact in Wallonia, as identified by either the results of the CyberExcellence research project or the activities of the CyberWal Strategic Inonvation Initiative. The primary aim is to acquire the skills that Walloon researchers do not yet possess, but which will be useful in solving certain CyberExcellence challenges. The second aim is to promote CyberExcellence and CyberWal in at European and NATO level to enable Walloon cybersecurity players to participate in strategic international consortiums.

  2. To ask young researchers to validate in a laboratory and representative environment (TRL 4 and 5) the key results of CyberExcellence. The ultimate goal is to enable these results to be used in a real environment for the benefit of Walloon socio-economic players.

  3. To protect the strategic interests of Belgium and NATO: respond to Belgian Defence issues by demonstrating in a real military environment the validity of the technologies developed in CyberExcellence. The operational objective is to coordinate the efforts of the CyberExcellence partners with those of Belgian Defence.
