Today, the Royal Military Academy’s students are putting their cybersecurity skills to the test in the highly anticipated Challenge Cyber TAM 2025.
The Challenge Cyber TAM (Terre – Air – Mer) is a cyber challenge organized by Airbus in collaboration with partners Yogosha and SAHAR, under the auspices of the Pôle d’Excellence Cyber (PEC) and the Commandement de la cyberdéfense (COMCYBER). It was first held in 2023, bringing together students from the three French military academies: the Académie militaire de Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan, the École de l’Air et de l’Espace, and the École Navale. The challenge is designed as a technical and operational exercise, simulating real-world cyber defense scenarios to strengthen cyber culture and training among officer candidates
This year the scenario involves the sabotage of an undersea communication cable, and 2 teams of students from the Royal Military Academy are also participating.
After only a few minutes, some ‘non-technical’ challenges also appear, with great opportunities to learn. More specifically, students must learn to cooperate as a team to tackle a cyber threat, which is especially challenging as the teams are composed of French speaking and Dutch speaking student, and also a German exchange student.
